Gillum House Bed & Breakfast

Gillum House Bed & Breakfast is a legal (licensed, inspected, and insured) bed & breakfast since 1996. It is located in downtown Shinnston, WV (approx. 7 miles from I-79) and next to the West Fork River Rail-Trail.

We have 3 guestrooms and serve breakfast at the time(s) requested by our guests. The entrée is cook's choice but choose your breakfast meat (chosen in advance please) from ham, bacon, our homemade pork sausage, pork chops, homemade maple venison sausage, or steak and country of origin for your breakfast coffee (we apologize that we only have 28 countries). Our meats are from WV and our eggs are from local farms. The blackberries and red raspberries served are from our yard. With luck, in the future, we will also have mulberries and persimmons.

The Gillum Room has a king bed and en-suite bathroom featuring a claw-foot tub and a 48-inch shower. Rosi's Room and the Harris room each have a queen bed and share the bathroom that features a 60-inch shower (deadbolt lock on bathroom door - only the innkeeper has the key). We offer free EV charging to registered guests. Cable TV and free whole-house WIFI. Free parking and no hidden fees.

Relax on our large front porch or in the back yard with the fire pit. We can also offer a tour of the historic (and original) circa 1778 Levi Shinn 2-story Log House (free-will donation to the Shinnston Historical Association)..

From I-79 - Exit #124. West at top of ramp. Turn right onto WV RT 707, turn left onto WV Rt 131 (stop sign). Drive to light & turn right. Go 2 blocks - turn left onto Walnut St. First house on left.
